Description
Canaries in Abbey Gardens is a scene from the aviaries in Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The aviaries have ancient flint walls, part of the ruined abbey, and are home to several species of birds including finches, budgies, quaker parrots and bourkes parakeets. I depicted them eating and singing, which seems to be what they do best!
The painting is in oil on canvas (18 x 24 cm) and is framed to a size of 26 x 33 cm in a moulded wooden frame with a matte cream paint finish. Supplied all ready to hang with picture cord.
